Here is my story.
I used to have an ebookwise which was not perfect but retailed for $99 when I bought it. It was backlit, could read decent books and was quite durable.
After two years of ebook love, I knocked it onto the floor and broke the screen.
1. It was outdated and I wasn't going to buy another.
2. I lost all the books I had bought because they were DRM-ed.
My kindle is ugly but can read a lot of books.
My kindle is light weight and can download things when I am in range. (I never am.)
